COLLECTIONS & EXHIBITS

We have linked our various collections below for your convenience. If you have any questions or would like to see or use any of the items in our collection(s), please contact Dr. Brunson (kbrunson@wesleyan.edu).

The Virtual Paleoanthropology Exhibit was created by the EAL for the purposes of helping courses including ARCP204: Intro to Archaeology, ARCP203: Ancient DNA, and more. The exhibit displays a range of hominins throughout evolutionary history. The collection includes 3D scans of hominin fossil casts from Bone Clones that are part of the Archaeological and Anthropological Collections.

The EAL works to create 3D models of the collections. Digitization allows for the accessibility of osteological specimen and the Archeology and Anthropology Collections (AAC).

The osteology collections housed in the Environmental Archaeology Lab represent over 100 genera, including domestic mammal, primates, and many species of birds, reptiles, and amphibians. Most of the collections come the George Brown Goode Biological Collection (GBGBC) of the Wesleyan Natural History Museum (WNHM).
