3D Scanning

Wesleyan University recently purchased an Artec Space Spider 3D scanner. The scanner is housed in the Environmental Archaeology Lab, and models can be printed in a variety of ways in Wesleyan’s IDEAS lab. We have started scanning collections on campus (over 150 models made so far!), and we are currently developing interdisciplinary applications for the use of 3D models and 3D printed objects in research, teaching, and exhibits. Our lab team is available to help scan objects, especially materials needed for teaching online and accessibility. Please feel free to get in touch with us if you are interested in using the scanner.
